Friday 20th March 2015 marked a special day for the City of Coventry and for those in attendance at the Pride of Coventry Awards.

I felt immensely priveliged to be performing at this prestigious event with a new Ska Band called 'Ruder Than U'.

I met these talented young artists through a long time friend and colleague Aitch Bembridge who made his name as a drummer for the Selecter back in the late 70s and early 80s.

We all met up at Broad St. Studios in Coventry where I laid down a track and then we talked about future events such as the Pride of Coventry Awards and the 3 Minute Hero Presentation in June at the Ego Theatre in Coventry.

It was great to share the stage with West End legend, Dave Willetts, Hazel O'Connor, The Jaguar Land Rover Brass Band and 'The Voice' contestants all from Coventry - Letitia George, Lee Glasson and Karl Loxley.

Hosts Fiona Phillips and Free Radio Presenter 'JD' John  Daizel were especially warm and entertaining.

The real stars were the men, women and children of Coventry who had shown courage in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds and still come through smiling not giving up.
